Doors & Windows
Doors, done right.
A door that sticks, a window that will not stay open, a frame with soft wood at the bottom: these get lived with for years. They also let in drafts, bugs and water, and they only get worse.
The List Home Services handles the swap, the squaring up and the finish trim. Galen Lemesh’s review says it simply: “They did a great job of installing the door.” Mitchell leads the crew, and the work is done with care.

The work
What we do
We install and replace doors and windows: entry doors, interior doors, sliding doors, French doors. Our own job photos include natural pine French doors with divided glass, hung into a brick wall and opening to a sunroom.
We also adjust doors that rub or will not latch, replace trim, and repair damaged frames. That has meant rustic X-brace barn doors, a slatted sliding barn door, and reframing a window opening in a brick wall.

Why it matters here
Older brick homes, odd openings
Plenty of homes around Maryville and Alcoa are brick, and older frames are rarely square. A new unit has to fit the opening that exists, which means careful measuring, shimming and sometimes reframing the opening first.
East Tennessee humidity swells wood doors in summer and shrinks them in winter, so a door that fit last fall can rub by July. Often an adjustment fixes it. Sometimes the frame is what has moved or rotted.

The process
How the job runs
Send photos or call about the door or window. We measure the opening, check the frame and the wall around it, and tell you what the job really involves before we give you a price for it.
Work starts only after you agree to the price. We protect your floors, set the unit plumb and level, finish the trim, and test the swing, the latch and the lock with you before we leave.

Where we do this work
Doors across Blount County.
We’re based in Maryville and take doors & windows jobs in all of these towns. Each page has drive times and local notes.
Can you replace just the door and keep my existing frame?
Sometimes. We check the frame for squareness, soft spots and rot. If it is sound, the door can go in without reframing. If it is not, we explain what the frame needs before anything gets cut.
My door sticks every summer. Do I need a new one?
Often not. Humidity swells wood, and a hinge or latch adjustment, or trimming the edge, can solve it. We check whether the frame has shifted or rotted before we suggest a replacement.
Do you handle the trim around a new window or door?
Yes. Trim is part of the work, so the opening is finished inside and out instead of left bare. We match what is there as closely as the existing house allows and cover the details when we price it.
